The story, set in the seventh century, follows the fate of the inhabitants of the Carpathian Settlement in the time before the unification of the Slavic tribes. The neighboring fortifications of the Great Table and Furnau, in which the story takes place in parallel, need each other’s business, but the power interests and pressure of the plundering Avars will put them in conflict during the story.
The series works with a fictional reconstruction of a historical period, but also with fantasy and supernatural elements. The creators chose motifs for it from Slovak and Ukrainian folk literature, songs and fairy tales. They create a kind of independent world.
The main female heroine, the teenage girl Draha (Polina Nosykhina), differs from her peers in consciousness and determination.
In search of herself, she is accompanied by a mysterious stranger, whom she saved and named him Vlad (Juraj Loj). He is slowly integrating into the company of the Great Table. Although from the beginning the inhabitants of the fort did not like it, thanks to their heroism, especially in the case of battles with nomadic tribes of Avars, they are beginning to get used to it. Simultaneously with the story of Vlad and Draha, we can also follow the story of Radúz (Tomáš Maštalír). The son of the elder of the Furnau fort, he is a proud and well-trained warrior. Above all, he loves his fragile wife Lada (Jana Kvantíková). They have both longed for children for a long time, but they are not doing well. Radúz seeks the help of shaman Sokol of the Furnau fort (Oleg Mosyichuk), but he cannot promised him a descendant. Radúz will turn to shaman of the fortified settlement of the Great Table, Čarad (Dušan Cinkota), who will use the chance and play a dangerous game …
